Abstract
In April 1983, the 3rd World Conference on Transport Research was held in Hamburg, Germany. Transport research and planning problems were discussed. The number of papers which could be included in the Conference Proceedings was limited, meaning that many interesting documents could not be published. Therefore, papers on 4 special areas within the sub-topic dealing with individuals and transport behavior were published in 4 consecutive issues of Transport Reviews. This paper provides something of an overview on this sub-topic and these 4 papers.
