Abstract

This document is intended to help Ontario municipalities and transit operators identify opportunities to improve their cost effectiveness by using contracted taxi/sedan services to augment services to the disabled. The report provides an overview of existing taxi/sedan contracting experiences, current planning methods for their introduction or expansion, the benefits and constraints of contracted services, and a thorough outline of the selection process. Also included for reference purposes are sample taxi/sedan operator agreement documents. (a)
