Abstract
Snow is considered to be drift on the leeward side of a gable roof. This causes an unbalanced snow load on the roof. However, in wind tunnel modeling experiments on gable roofs, roof snow accumulations have been obtained where the snow accumulation on the leeward side is smaller than that on the windward side. Experiments on model buildings with typical shape of roof are carried out, using two kinds of model snow particles. This paper discusses the process of forming roof snow accumulation.
