Abstract
This paper discusses the need for instrumentation of gravity-type offshore structures. The usefulness of instrumentation programs for installation of the structures and for collection of performance data is discussed in a general way. A brief description is given of the principal instrumentation systems and types of sensors installed on the Condeep structures. Practical problems are pointed out, and typical examples of results of measurements are given for a few systems.
