Abstract
Information from lengthy tests in Hirschaid, Rheda/Oelde and Dachau/Karlsfeld shows how track laid on a fixed bed, as recommended when the ground is of a very specific type, can also be a valid solution when track is laid on a deck. The only way in general to avoid subsidence is by relevelling and putting new pressure on the support plate. Moreover, a minimum of maintenance is needed to obtain economic results that compare well with track with ballast.
