Abstract

The bimolecular decay of (CH/sub 3/)/sub 2/C(OH)(O/sub 2/) and of O/sub 2/CH/sub 2/OH, and the first-order non-catalytic formation of HO/sub 2/ are investigated. The effect of OH/sup -/ and HPO/sub 4//sup 2 -/ on the O/sub 2/ formation in isopropanol aqueous solutions is also measured, and the results support the idea that the ability to produce superoxide radicals is general to ..cap alpha.. peroxy radicals of alcohols.
