Abstract
New designs of room air conditioners (RAC) now incorporate more efficient motors, valve designs, and other improvements at significantly higher cost. A comparison is made of an RAC designed for high efficiency and one for a normal efficiency rating. The effect of various components and other variables such as style, design, and arrangement are discussed as factors affecting efficiency. (MCW)
