This article insert briefly describes the Interactive Safety Design Model (IHSDM) and presents two case studies that highlight the use of the IHSDM to implement Highway Safety Manual (HSM) Part C methods. The IHSDM is a suite of software tools that support project-level decisions about the geometric design of roadways.
