Abstract
Every teacher is on the lookout for mathematical ideas that will bring a spirit of excitement to the classroom. For years I have been searching for such an idea that could be used to introduce the topic of sequences and series. An article in the College Mathematics Journal (Barcellos 1984) contained a description of the snowflake curve together with some of the sequences associated with that curve. The snowflake curve has proved to be the exciting idea that I wanted. My students find the snowflake curve so fascinating that they are eager to learn more about sequences.
