Abstract
Collision detection plays a vital role in improving the sense of immersion and realism in virtual environment. Since there are a large number of objects. and the complexity of the object geometry in the virtual environment, Different detection algorithms makes the collision detection process often take a lot of storage space and processing time, The bounding box is the most basic collision detection algorithm, The OBB intersect test tightness and can significantly reduce the number of bounding volume. The geometric characteristics of the bounding box should be surrounded by objects of simple geometric objects, and try to occupy less storage space. Propose a bounding box of direction cylindrical So it can be improved though surrounded objects more close, then improve the efficiency of collision detection.
