Abstract
The West Virginia Department of Transportation owns the Kanawha River Bridge, currently under construction in Kanawaha County. A cast-in-place segmental box girder bridge, it will hold the United States' record for longest concrete box girder span, with a main span of 760 feet. Bridge layout, superstructure, substructure, and construction are discussed. A box details bridge aesthetics.
