Abstract
Conditions for the quantitative precipitation of small amounts ot rare earths with acetone dioxalic acid in the presence of iron complexonate were studied. A new precipitator, salicylfluorone, is proposed for the separation of rare earths at pH 5.5--7 from any amount of calcium which remains in solution. A method is aiso suggested for the separation of small amounts of rare earths from ores containing large amounts of iron, calcium, and phosphorus. One chemist can carry out 10 determinations in 3--4 working days. (auth)
