Abstract
Representative samples of Colorado coking coals were petrographically characterized and both the qualitative and quantitative fluorescence properties of these coals were evaluated. This report discusses the initial results of the evaluation of the types and abundance of fluorescent macerals present in these coals, and the manner in which the fluorescent macerals change with increasing coal rank. 13 refs.
