Abstract
Data are reviewed from a number of studies on patients with hematologic malignancies treated with transplanted bone marrow cells following total-body irradiation. The fact that increasing numbers of disease-free marrow graft recipients following total-body irradiation have survived for years indicates the feasibility of the treatment, especially since the patients had reached the terminal phase of their leukemia at the time of grafting.
