Abstract

In the offline sales process, we found that there may be characteristics of mutual influence between the sales of different categories of vegetables. Therefore, we hypothesized that there might be a potential link between different kinds of vegetables. In order to gain more insight into this correlation, this article conducted a correlation analysis on the sales of different categories of vegetables over the past three years. We have obtained daily sales data of various vegetables over the past three years, as well as their categories. We used linear regression, Kendall correlation coefficient, and Spearman rank correlation sufficient to explore the correlation between sales of different categories of vegetables, and ultimately determined that the conclusion obtained using Spearman rank correlation coefficient is more robust. Among them, the Spearman rank correlation coefficient among the sales of chili vegetables and edible mushroom vegetables is 0.69, indicating a strong correlation between them. Accordingly, it can be determined that there is a certain potential correlation between different categories of vegetables, we can use this as a basis for merchants to bundle sales of different types of vegetables, thereby improving sales and customer satisfaction.
