Abstract

Abstract— Based on comparative morphological studies of weatherfishes (genus Misgurnus) collected in the Ili River basin (Kazakhstan) in 2022, specimens from the collection of the Zoological Museum of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and literature data, it is shown for the first time that the oriental weatherfish Misgurnus anguillicaudatus has naturalized in the Balkhash-Ili basin.
