Abstract

A juvenile Short-tailed Albatross (Diomedea albatrus) was observed and photographed at Ocean Station Papa (OSP), 50°N, 145°W, North Pacific Ocean in June, 1971.The presence of numerous pelagic birds, including the New Zealand Shearwater (Puffinus bulleri), at OSP is recorded.The occurrence of land birds (Ruddy Turnstone, Savannah Sparrow, Northern Phalarope, Mallard, Shoveller, Western Sandpiper, Lapland Longspur) at OSP during August-September 1969 is believed to be related to fall migration.
