Abstract

The spherical reflector antenna is requested for multibeam radiation performance for 5G mobile and satellite communications. This classification of sub-reflector design for a spherical reflector antenna configuration is presented in this paper. The classification is using the constant path length principle as derived and developed in [1] using the parallel incident rays, concentrated at the feed horn position. From the principle, the possible antenna configurations of a spherical reflector antenna with three types of shaped sub-reflector are identified. The shaped sub-reflector is designed and analyzed in MATLAB simulation at 12.5GHz for satellite communications.
