Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze selected morphometric properties of drainage network in the Parvenetska river basin, the northwestern Rhodope Mountains. In this regard, the watershed of the main river was divided into seven sub-basins. For each of them, the following linear and areal morphometric parameters were considered: area and shape of the catchment, slopes, drainage network length, drainage density, stream frequency, bifurcation ratio, Meltonʼs index, hypsometric integral, etc. The morphometric analysis can be used for creating of hydrological and geomorphological models for natural hazards and for better planning of sustainable use of water resources in the area.
