Privacy and Private Property

The article deals with the relationship between the right to private space and property. The distinction between private and public is based on the form of ownership: what belongs to one person or a limited circle of persons is private, and what can be used by all members of society is public. In Western culture, the origins of ideas about public and private originate in antiquity. Subsequently, respect for the right to private space and property was formed under the influence of such social processes of modern times as industrialization, urbanization and individualization of consciousness. In liberal philosophy, the right to privacy and property is associated with such concepts as freedom, dignity and respect for the individual. Depriving the individual of these rights leads to the destruction of the self.
