Abstract

Abstract We start this chapter by deriving again the Lorentz transformations, but this time by using a more standard approach. We shall work in non-relativistic units in which the speed of light is denoted by c.We restrict attention to two inertial observers Sand S’in standard configuration. As before, we shall show that the Lorentz transformations follow from the two postulates, namely, the principle of special relativity and the constancy of the velocity of light.
