Abstract

Abstract The notion of quasi-coherent sheaves in algebraic geometry was introduced by J.-P. Serre ([85]). These are sheaves which are in some sense ‘locally constant’ with respect to the structural sheaf. They are the analogues of modules over a ring. The theory of quasi-coherent sheaves and their cohomology groups is a powerful tool for studying schemes.
