Abstract

Abstract The hsp40 gene was independently isolated as HDJ1 by cDNA cloning from a human placenta cDNA library (Raabe, Manley, 1991). The nucleotide sequence of human hsp40 cDNA (GenBank accession numbers D17749, D49547; Ohtsuka, 1993) is almost identical (98%) to that of independently isolated HDJ1 cDNA (GenBank accession number X62421; Raabe, Manley, 1991). The hsp40 cDNA encodes a protein of 340 amino acids (calculated molecular mass of 38 042 Da, pl of 8.92).
