Abstract

Abstract Epidemiology is the study of the distribution of clinical phenomena in human populations. Clinical epidemiology is the application of epidemiologic methods to the care of the patient. The fruits of clinical epidemiology include: Identification of the causes of disease, prediction of the development of disease and its clinical outcomes, rational use of clinical tests, assessment of the risks and benefits of therapies, and evaluation of screening technologies.
