Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the development of aquaculture and the possibility of fish feed production in the conditions of the Kaliningrad region. The urgency of the issue is due to the need for import substitution and the search for alternative sources for the production of domestic feed. Feeding costs account for more than 50% of the costs in aquaculture and reducing the cost of feed through the use of non-traditional plant crops is an opportunity to strengthen the feed base of domestic fish farming and stimulate its further successful development. Innovative plant cultures have been identified that can replace expensive protein components of animal origin (meat and bone meal, fish meal, etc.) in fish feeding diets. The presented analytical materials confirm the existence of favorable conditions and prospects for the production of fish feed in the Kaliningrad region.
