Abstract
A regular Octagonal Microstrip Antenna (OMA) is investigated using Conformal Mapping Technique (CMT). The octagonal microstrip antenna is mapped into a unit disk. The resonant frequency $(f_{r}^{c})$, internal field patterns of the OMA are investigated using conformal mapping technique. The results obtained using our proposed theory is in excellent agreement with the HFSS data. Our proposed theory can calculate the resonant frequency of the octagonal microstrip antenna with an error of less than 2%. Other polygonal shaped microstrip antennas can be investigated using this method.
