Abstract
This chapter analyses demand conditions. It examines supply and brings demand and supply together to analyse how markets work. The chapter introduces the concept of effective demand and explains what is shown by a demand curve. Then, it demonstrates the difference between a change in the quantity demanded and a change in demand on a demand curve. It goes on to explain the possible causes of a shift in a demand curve. It concludes with the introduction of marginal and total utility and explains the law of diminishing marginal utility.
