Abstract

Performance of a communications system can be seriously decreased by strong multitone interference (MTI) or narrowband interference. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system can be designed for the better protection from such impact than the single carrier communications systems. However, still, they can't withstand the high power interference signal. To make the good design for the active methods of resistance, an adaptive bit loading approach can significantly increase system performance in such interference channels. Therefore, OFDM based communication system with adaptive bit loading (ABL) is described. Bit error rate (BER) performance of the system is evaluated via computer simulations. Some problems of such approach are mentioned and discussed.
