Abstract

Affecting the most marginalized communities in the world, noma begins as oral ulceration before rapidly progressing to oro-facial gangrene. We aim to emphasize the significant burden of noma whilst highlighting the role of non-governmental organizations in advocacy, treatment and the surgical management of those affected.
