Ceremonies and rituals, associated with the cult of water (on the example of ancient and medieval Tajikistan)

The article provides information about the ceremonies and rituals associated with the cult of water, preserved until recently in Khujand. The special attitude of our region residents to water originated due to natural and climatic conditions, the nature of people 's work activities. The cult of water, the veneration of water came to us since time immemorial, the times of the sacred "Avesta", in the form of numerous "holy waters" found everywhere throughout Central Asia. Many Tajik rituals and beliefs were associated with the cult of water, the same with the residents of Khujand.
