Abstract

Carbon monoxide (CO) is treated as silent killer. CO is a dangerous gas that leads to the occurrence of death. The CO is available from coal, gasoline, natural gas, propane as well as wood. The source of CO is defective furnaces, water heater, gas ranges, fire places and machine exhaust systems. Hemoglobin shows 200 times more affinity for CO compare to O2. CO acts as poisonous to the cytochrome system in cells also. Delayed neurological symptoms of CO include movement collaboration, muscle stiffness, difficulty with speech and language. Pathogenesis of CO includes mitochondrial inhi ition.as well as free radical generation, platelet and inflammatory effects, mechanisms of brain is chemin. Prevention of CO is performed by installation of CO detectors and proper ventilation. It is concluded that an administration of 100 oxygen according to possibility for replacing CO.
