Abstract

We decide to contribute through this paper in the development of an integrated policy of scheduling of production and maintenance actions considering operational constraints. We consider a flow shop manufacturing system. This latter processes several jobs with various given parameters. The system is affected by several deterioration failures; thus, Preventive Maintenance (PM) is performed over optimal periods. The optimal age of preventive maintenance corresponding to a minimum total cost of preventive and corrective maintenance of each machine, is defined by the adopted maintenance policy. The objective of our study aims to develop a new mathematical model able to find an optimal sequence of production and maintenance actions in order to minimize earliness and tardiness penalty costs. Illustrative numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed integrated model.
