The scientific article is devoted to the review of the term “security” and “economic security”, the event of an external irritating effect on the insurance company, which later led to the bankruptcy procedure, is analyzed. It is concluded that the timely adoption of correct management decisions that meet current realities and the reduction of the number of negative elements that have an irritating effect on the mechanism of insurance business organization in the Russian Federation can bring to a new level the economic and financial security of the insurance industry itself, which, as a link in the country’s financial system, has a direct impact, including on the economic the security of the Russian Federation as a whole.
