Abstract

Through the creation of greater genetic variety in already existing varieties, induced mutagenesis has been an essential component in the process of improving variations and facilitating the development of superior types. The generation of genetic variants can be accomplished in a strong manner by causing mutations in bacteria via chemical and physical mutagenesis. Chemical mutagens are typical tools to originate mutations in a number of plants and microbes. Mutagenesis is the process of altering the genetic makeup of an organism by introducing a new mutation. Consequently, we have utilized chemical mutagen in order to induce mutation in the Bacillus subtilis (MTCC 6808) strain. During this investigation, a mutagen solution is prepared from EMS in varying concentrations. After incubation, we compared the samples with controls to determine whether the mutation had taken place. Therefore, it is possible, all things considered, to induce a certain type of mutation by making use of the proper mutagen and bacterial strain.
