Acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF) is a clinical syndrome that often results in hospitalization. Type 1 cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) characterized by acute worsening of cardiac function leading to acute kidney injury (AKI) is common in ADHF patients due to the maladaptive cross talk between the heart and kidneys. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between clinical phenotypes of ADHF and risk for development of type 1 CRS.
