Abstract
This paper presents a mathematical model of a Three Phase Induction Motor with balanced and unbalanced operations under different loading conditions. This mathematical model is derived for induction motor using a two-axis model with abc to dq0 transformation. This model is derived from the uneven numbers of turns of single phase of the stator windings under both balanced and unbalanced operating conditions. A comparative analysis of motor performance for both fault conditions are presented in the simulation results considering the various loading conditions. The approach discussed here is ‘Current Sequence Component’ used to analyze the system’s unbalanced conditions. Stator winding fault is the most common cause of breakdown in induction motors. Early detection of an inter turn winding faults will prevent damage of stator coils and stator core during the motor operation and also reduces the maintenance costs. In this paper, a MATLAB/Simulink model is designed to discuss the performance of motor under certain loading conditions of stator winding fault.
