Abstract

Abstract This chapter discusses linear viscoelasticity under steady-state oscillatory loading. Storage and loss moduli and storage and loss compliances for oscillatory conditions are discussed, as are loss tangents, phase lag, damping capacity, and energy dissipation. The concept of complex moduli to understand viscoelastic material behavior is discussed.
