A total of six Nobel prizes have been awarded in the field of organometallic chemistry over the past several decades. This has made organometallic chemistry one of the hot topics in the field of chemistry. This book chapter is intended to study the fundamental aspects of organometallic compounds, starting from the definition of organometallic compounds, the exclusive milestone in the field of organometallic compounds. In addition to that, the basic aspects of organometallic compounds are covered along with the proper equations and structures wherever necessary.
