Abstract
To increase the stability of highway loess high slope, a multi-stage slope is generally adopted and platforms are set in the multi-stage slope. Soil loss is very serious in the loess region of China, but there are few studies on the erosion characteristics of multi-stage loess slopes, so this study is very important. Take the multi-stage loess slope of highway in the Qingyang area of Gansu Province as the research object, the evolution process of soil erosion of multi-stage loess slope is summarized and the factors affecting loess erosion are analyzed by means of field investigation and analysis. The soil erosion caused by platform catchment in the multi-stage loess slopes can’t be ignored when the rain is heavy. The slope factor in the RUSLE model is modified according to the test results. The relationship of the quadratic polynomial between the slope factor and the slope is put forward based on the test results. It is suggested that soil and water conservation measures should be taken as soon as possible after cutting the loess high slope, so as to reduce the occurrence of soil erosion. This paper can provide a basis for preventing soil erosion on the highway loess high slope.
