Abstract
This paper describes a technique for estimating the inertia of a power system based on frequency and active power measurements following a power imbalance. The technique was specially designed to estimate the inertia of a power system connected to another one. Classical techniques for inertia estimation are not applicable for this case since the power imbalance will be far to be constant. The possible error sources are examined in detail with the help of the New England benchmark. The technique is applied to the Uruguayan power system and some of its subsystems with the help of field synchrophasor data.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
