Abstract

This paper introduces an X-band circularly polarized isoflux antenna operating at X-band. The antenna structure is quite simple. It is composed of feeding source and specially designed dielectric loaded above for beam shaping. The results show successful isoflux beam radiation. The maximum gain occurs at the 50 degrees away from boresight direction. Additionally, spatial axial-ratio is better than 3 dB within the isolfux beamwidth. The dielectric height is about 0.57 λ0, where λ0 is the wavelength of central frequency. The total structure is compact and performance is good.
