Onomastyczne konteksty Glogera

According to the author of the article, when analysing Zygmunt Gloger's achievements from the perspective of onomastics, it should be concluded that he strove to save Polish anthroponyms and toponyms from oblivion. It can be said that his preoccupation with names stems from his interest in cultural onomastics, which is part of cultural linguistics, assuming language (including proper names) to be a product of culture and at the same time as a medium of cultural content specific to a given person and society. For this reason, he constantly encourages the collection of different types of -onyms and searches for motivations, which, based on available academic knowledge, gave rise to given names.
