Abstract

Downlink non-orthogonal transmission can also be used for broadcast/multicast scenarios. It is observed from the system-level simulations that the basic broadcast/unicast service and the enhanced broadcast/unicast services can be superimposed and transmitted. By adjusting the power ratio between these two services, various combinations of data rate and coverage percentage of the enhanced services can be obtained, without significantly impacting the basic broadcast/multicast services. This provides more deployment choices for wireless operators.
