Abstract

Published locations of geographic centers are found to be inaccurate, inconsistently determined and in serious need of revision. The definition of geographic center is clarified. Methods of computation of two-dimensional distributions on curved surfaces are given. An accurate location for the center of Wisconsin is determined. The uncertainty in the the geographic center of the United States is discussed. Recommendations for future further work are given.
