An Analysis on Sustainable Development and Green Economy

Sustainability and the green economy are two of the topics most discussed by leaders, academics and the media over the past three decades. This study aims to investigate the understanding of the term 'sustainable development', its components (economic sustainability, social sustainability and environmental sustainability) and the different approaches it proposes relative to traditional growth theories. This study explains that the concept of a green economy will be addressed by demonstrating its role in supporting countries on their path to sustainable development. The paper ultimately concludes that sustainable development and a green economy will be described and implemented through green policies.
