Abstract Creeping flows where the viscous effects are dominant, are considered. The Moffatt corner eddies are described. The flow around a sphere is detailed and leads to the Stokes formula. Stokes eigenmodes are analyzed and a three-dimensional Stokes solution is given. The flow around a circular cylinder leads to the Stokes’ paradox.
