Abstract

Modeling of the interaction between electromagnetic fields and human body has become an imperative tool for pioneering technological research in the field of bio-electromagnetism. This paper presents a description of the steps needed to assess and quantify the electromagnetic fields distribution and the related quantities in the human body for the investigation of medicine and health research studies. Moreover, two examples of the application of computational electromagnetic techniques to assess the EMF exposure and the electric field levels induced by a biomedical application based on EMF are reported. Novel insights and criticism of the application of computational dosimetry for the investigation of electromagnetic fields – body interactions will be also discussed.
