Fungal keratitis: evolution of professional point of view and pharmacotherapy experience in Russian Federation

A review of the literature describing treatment of keratitis and corneal ulcers of fungal etiology in Russian Federation is presented. In this article evolution and changing views on the treatment of this pathology are reflected, as well as current state of the problem and the most widely used drugs, which include fluconazole, voriconazole, amphotericin B and chlorhexidine. Nowadays, all treatment protocols are carried out with off-label drugs, which creates, among other things, legal problems of treating patients with fungal lesions.
