Abstract

The present work deals with the usage of infrared transparent materials in building simulation. Building Energy Simulation models generally take into account shortwave and longwave radiant transfer in separate ways that do not allow for the computation of radiation through infrared transparent materials. In this paper, the successful comparison of an RC-based building model with EnergyPlus is first presented and the influence of infrared transmissivity of polymer windows is evaluated.
