Abstract
In Korea, short circuit breakers are used as devices to prevent electrical fires. The short circuit breaker is a device that blocks over-current and leakage current and has a great effect in preventing electric shock accidents, but it is insufficient in terms of preventing electrical fires caused by the arc. This is one of reason why electrical fires continue to occur even when short circuit breakers are installed in general-purpose homes. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the mechanism of fire by series arc so as to prevent fire by arc. So we will study the characteristics of each breaker and the results of the study will be used as useful data for identifying sources of electrical ignition in field.
